Back and Forth in Peace Negotiations

This visualisation shows the trajectory of all formal agreements in peace processes from 1990-2025. The blue line represents how a peace process would look if it smoothly went from one stage to the next. However, processes do not tend to follow this linear pattern.

Click the visualisation to start and see how processes go back and forth. Select a peace process to view from the dropdown in the top left corner. Hover on an agreement to see the name and date, and click an agreement circle to view in PA-X. Zoom using mouse or +/- buttons to expand the time axis. Reset using the reset button.
